About Emily

Hi, I'm Emily. I'm an editorial style photographer based in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, serving Portland, the Willamette Valley, & Seattle. I'm also available for (and love to) travel to other places.

Although my job is usually a blast and rarely feels like work (at least when I'm taking pictures), I love knowing that I'm doing something important. I'm responsible for documenting and preserving your memories. I take that job very seriously; it's an honor. And I mean that.

Together, we'll relax, laugh, and make awesome pictures. They're all about you, so don't worry about how it's "supposed" to go. Be yourself. You can't go wrong.

I believe that my job as a photographer is to capture the beauty that is your story and to tell it. I'm better at telling stories when I know who the characters are, so don't be freaked out when I try to get to know you.

On a personal note, I love to sing to answering machines. Birthday songs and cheer-up songs are my specialty. I'm a terrible singer; I am an equally skilled dancer, who loves dancing at weddings.

I am a small-town girl who loves the big city. I love sparkley lights & yummy restaurants, but I hate traffic and having to be so cautious around strangers. I don't have life all figured out, but I'm enjoying the challenge.

For me, the beauty in photography is capturing the beauty of reality, rather than creating it. There is beauty to be found everywhere. And I just love finding it. One of my favorite parts about the intimacy of this job is getting to know my clients and figuring out what makes them unique and awesome.

I live in Albany, Oregon with this great guy named Steven, our daughters Rose & Sonia, and our four (yes I said four) cats. It's beautiful here. There's ocean and sand, waterfalls and mountains - all within an hour or so of my front door. We love hikes, road trips, & restaurants. On the rare occasion that I get time to myself, it's typically spent crafting with a glass of red wine.
