So, What are You Doing Tonight?

Over the River and Through the Woods opens TONIGHT! (Jan. 13, 2012)

I got my own private viewing on Tuesday. (They even let me get up on the stage and everything - SO FUN!!)

THIS PLAY WAS AMAZING. It's about a typical (crazy) Italian family. I happen to be a part of such a family, so this play really hit home for me in a lot of ways. Honestly, I left in a bit of a fog, still processing the plot (and still moderately freaked out at seeing "my family" on stage.)

Bring your tissue, bring your hankie; you'll be sniffling along with the rest of the audience. This play WILL touch your heart.

Leigh and her cast did an amazing job of understanding the characters.  I'd met each cast member a few weeks before to do their cast head-shots. And, although their costumes didn't require huge alterations in appearance for any of the actors, I honestly didn't even recognize some of them from "head-shot-day."

WELL DONE, ACT! I'm always floored with how amazing your plays are. You continue to be one of my favorite things about Albany, Oregon.

People Under the Bridge!?!

I had the opportunity to shoot alongside Bunn Salarzon (and Mz. Kham too of course) at Oncology Youth Connection's 'People Under the Bridge' - Halloween Party. I don't think I can really describe the awesomeness of this party, so I'll just show you:

OMG! Have NOT stopped listening to Miss Palmer since this show.  Check her out!

Rehearsal Dinner Festivities

It's almost guaranteed that (for those involved,) the day before a wedding is action packed (and maybe a little stressful).  Jonathan and Kelly scheduled this family-friendly after-dinner activity for their wedding party, family, and out-of-town guests: GENIUS.  ...Oh and obviously a blast.

Relay for Life - Part 1: Cuts for the Cure

I first heard of getting your hair cut for the cure when I was in about 6th grade. My summer camp counselor had shaved her head in support of a friend who was undergoing chemo. She donated her hair to Locks of Love and spent the rest of the summer virtually bald, rubbing sunscreen on her head, so her friend wouldn't feel so alone. It made a pretty big impact on me.

This year, I got to show support for the cure for cancer in my own way (and keep my hair). I got to be a sponsor and photographer for Relay for Life. Unanticipated bonus:

My company logo was on a whole lot of people's bums.  :)

One of the cool events at Relay for Life (Albany) this year was their Cuts for the Cure event. They had stylists from Today's Salon and Spa on stage cutting ponytails and then styling donors' hair. Check it out:

Here are the lovely and talented ladies from Today's - they're super-nice too.

Connor's First Birthday

Great food, cake, and conversation made for a super-fun 1st birthday for the adults at Connor's party. Connor, you have some super-cool adults in your life. I really had a blast at your birthday party.

One of my favorite things about first birthdays is the combination of loving family members and the awed one-year-old. Connor was no exception as he went from one grandparent to another, getting snuggles and loves all along the way. He was a trooper and made it through his (surprisingly healthy, but still yummy) cupcake AND presents. Then he and I both headed out for a much-needed nap. :)

Thank you so much for including me in Connor's 1st Birthday!
